Bernard Hughes: Eleven Miniatures for solo piano

Bernard Hughes’s Miniatures are a graded sequence of 11 short pieces, from beginner music to about ABRSM
grade 5 standard. Written in diverse styles over a period of some thirty years, the pieces all bear witness to the composer’s determination to write music for non-professionals without writing down to them. As a consequence these pieces are technically and musically accessible, but also full of interest and content that will stimulate and satisfy pianists of all ages.
